Yes another announcement about an art exhibition. I am super busy but having a great time sharing the artwork that I have created. The next opening reception is April 27, 7:00-9:00 at the Affinity Gallery, 813 Broadway Avenue. This will also be the celebration of the student art installation in the trees on Broadway Avenue (wire nests). I will be installing the nests along the street the week of April 23. The Market Mall Studio – continues until June 12
I am currently the Visual Artist-in-Residence for the PotashCorp Children’s Festival of Saskatchewan. I am creating larger than life bird nests to display at the festival and am using studio space in Market Mall (2325 Preston Ave, Saskatoon) to create.  The theme of the 2012 Children’s Festival is DREAM BIG and the nests will definitely be big.  I am is using only recycled and reclaimed materials in the creation of the nests. Come down and see the artwork or check out the blog where I post updated images as often as possible http://moniquemartinart.blogspot.com/

The North Star-Peter Reynolds

Saturday, 24 March, 2012

I just discovered an online version of Peter Reynolds’ book The North Star.  You can choose a boy or a girl character and read the story online! He even offers a musical you can purchase to perform at your school.

All of his books and materials are amazing, and you can also download free inspirational posters here: http://fablevisionlearning.com/resources/

A sad day for ECEC

Saturday, 9 July, 2011

It is with great sadness that I inform our members of the loss of one of our most dear teacher friends and executive members.  Erin Tisserand passed away on Friday, July 7th after a long battle with cancer.  She served on both the Saskatoon Local Executive and the Provincial Executive as well as being part of the team that brought you such great social events at the conferences.  She will be missed dearly by us all.

Happy Thanksgiving!

aka bird with a hot dog in it's mouth!

My intern Jenn read the story “A Turkey for Thanksgiving” by Eve Bunting. ‎She started the story by discussing the little stuffed turkey in this photo. Later in the day one of the girls asked her, “Miss Revering, where is the bird with the hot dog in it’s mouth?” “Oh……… you mean….. the turkey?” :)
